Flower Care Guide
A simple guide to keep your bouquet looking fresh for longer. Floralinker bouquets are made by independent florists — a little care goes a long way.
1. When your bouquet arrives
- Unwrap the bouquet and remove any outer packaging around stems and flower heads.
- Use a clean vase and fill it with room-temperature water. Add flower food (if included).
- Re-cut stems by 2–3 cm at a 45° angle using sharp scissors or a knife.
Quick tip: don’t crush stems — clean cuts help them drink better.
2. Vase setup & best placement
- Remove any leaves that would sit below the water line (this reduces bacteria).
- Keep flowers in a cool spot, away from direct sun, radiators, draughts, or appliances.
- Keep bouquets away from ripening fruit (ethylene gas can shorten vase life).
3. Daily care
- Top up water daily — many stems drink a lot in the first 24–48 hours.
- Every 2–3 days: change the water completely and re-cut stems slightly.
- Remove wilted blooms as they fade to keep the bouquet looking its best.
4. Flower-specific tips
- Lilies: pinch off pollen anthers to prevent staining.
- Hydrangeas: if they droop, dip the heads and upper stems in cool water for 20–30 minutes.
- Mixed bouquets: check water more often — different flowers drink at different speeds.
5. How long will they last?
Most bouquets last around a week (often longer), depending on the flowers, room temperature, and how often you change the water.
Try this: split a big bouquet into 2 small vases — easier care, more rooms to enjoy.

Why it works
In a vase, flowers rely on clean water and open stem channels. These steps reduce bacteria, improve water uptake, and help your bouquet stay brighter for longer.
